Tucson, Arizona today and yesterday:
Enjoy old time friendliness with all the modern conveniences. Tucson, a big city with a small town feel is truly a wonderful place! Great weather, breathtaking natural beauty and an abundance of activities makes Tucson the place to be! Housing is affordable and the cost of living is low.
Arizona's second largest city, Tucson, is a clean and attractive city. The hub of activity and commerce for southern Arizona, Tucson, has a population of nearly 800,000. The University of Arizona is located here. The renowned Saguaro National Park featuring that wonderful desert icon, the saguaro cactus, is nearby.

Tucson is located in a valley at the base of 4 different mountain ranges. Just northeast of Tucson, the Santa Catalina Mountains rise to over 9,000 feet. They are home to the southernmost ski resort in the United States.

Because of the almost always clear and relatively dark skies, there are several large telescope installations around southern Arizona operated by several different entities. The largest of them Kitt Peak National Observatory west of Tucson offers some public access.
